How to author a Learning Path Course (Admin)

As an Admin in TORSH Talent, you can create Learning Path Courses to be completed by learners in your system. Courses are an assembly of modules that can be completed in sequential or non-sequential order depending on your settings. You can enroll your learners directly to a course and have them start on the first module as needed. You can even have your course award a digital certificate for the combined units/hours earned from all completed modules therein.

How To Create a Course

  1. To get started, click on 'Learning Paths' in the top navigation bar.

  2. Next, click on the ‘Modules Management’ tab.

  3. On Modules Management, click ‘+ New.'

  4. Then select ‘Course’ in the dropdown that appears. This will bring you to the course’s Module page.

In Edit mode, you can view the 'Module' page wherein you can title the course, give it a thumbnail, and add/arrange any previously authored modules to your course.

To add modules to your course, you must first author a Learning Path module to add. To learn more about how to author a module, read this Help Center article here.

NOTE: An individual module can only be added to one course at a time. One specific module cannot exist within two separate courses.

Sequential vs Non-Sequential

When you have your modules added to the course, you can designate whether or not the learner will progress through the course sequentially or non-sequentially by clicking on the 'Make Modules Sequential' toggle.

  • If a course's modules are sequential, then the modules will appear in a numbered listing, and the learners enrolled into the course will only have access to the next module in line once they have completed the current module they are enrolled into.
  • If a course's modules are kept non-sequential, then they will be able to be completed and enrolled into in any order by the learners enrolled into the course.

If you choose to make the course sequential in progression, you can further define if you would like to make all modules sequential or if you would like to make the sequential progress last until a certain module in sequence is completed before the rest of the modules open up to be non-sequential from thereon.

To modify this setting, make sure you have 'Make Modules Sequential' enabled. Then click on on the 'Sequential until' dropdown to select the last module in your desired sequence to be completed. You will then see all modules leading up to that module listed in numeric order. Any modules past the module you selected will be eligible for enrollment and progress in any order the learner desires once they have completed the ordered sequence of modules beforehand.
