How to upload videos & files to TORSH Talent using a mobile phone/tablet

Download the TORSH Talent Mobile App

In order to get the most out of your experience with TORSH Talent, we highly recommend using our free TORSH Talent mobile app. This app is a video recording/uploading app that automatically compresses videos as they record, reducing them to a smaller file sizes than if you were to record on your native Camera app. This also makes for quicker, more stable video uploads to the platform.

To download the app, go to the App Store or the Google Play Store on your mobile phone or tablet and search for 'TORSH Talent.' Download the free TORSH Talent mobile app to your device.

Using the TORSH Talent Mobile App

The first time you launch the mobile app, you will need to allow the app to access your microphone and camera. You will first be brought to your login page. Log in to your Talent account by using the password that you created when first activating your Talent account via your invitation email. If you have not yet received an invitation email, please reach out to your System Admin(s) and request that you be invited to the TORSH Talent platform.

Recording in the TORSH Talent Mobile App

To record video using the TORSH Talent mobile app, tap the 'red record button' on the bottom of your Camera screen. Press the button again when you are ready to stop recording. If you are connected to WiFi and have 'Automatic Uploads' enabled in the mobile app's Settings, the video will start uploading automatically.

The 'Recording Time Available' above the red record button is based on the amount of space available on your device (Do note that this does not include any cloud storage services). If you need more recording time, please delete any old photos, videos and/or apps to allow for more storage space on your device.

You can record new videos while existing videos are being uploaded in the background. After your video is uploaded, you can view your uploaded video by logging in to the TORSH Talent website in your web browser. Within the Talent website, you can see all of your recently uploaded videos by clicking on the ‘Videos and Files’ tab in your navigation bar.

Importing into the TORSH Talent Mobile App

If you have already recorded a video file using your native Camera app, you can import the video file into the TORSH Talent mobile app to upload it! To do so, simply open your mobile app and then tap the 'menu icon' in the top, left-hand corner. Next, tap 'Videos & Files.'

On your Videos & Files page, tap the 'Import' button in the top, right-hand corner. This will automatically display your device's camera roll. Select your videos and then tap on your video file to select it. NOTE: We recommend selecting only one video at a time as opposed to uploading multiple files at once. Once the video has been selected, tap 'Choose' and your video will automatically import and upload via the TORSH Talent mobile app!

NOTE: If your mobile app does not present an 'Import' button, this is because your System Admin(s) have enabled a system setting for the mobile app that removes Importing/Exporting in the mobile app as an option. Please contact your System Admin(s) for further assistance.

Upload To the Website on Your Mobile Device

If you are having difficulties uploading via the TORSH Talent mobile app, you can always attempt to upload your video file using the website version. However, we highly recommend you record and upload through the mobile app first. If you would like to upload to the website from your web browser app on your mobile phone/tablet, first make sure that you have a copy of your video file on your mobile phone/tablet.

Video Recorded on Camera App

If you recorded your video using your native Camera app, then you will find it in your photos app (Photos on iOS; Gallery on Android). Do keep in mind that the file could be very large, as most native Camera apps record at an incredibly high resolution. If your video file is several Gigabytes (GB) in size, then you may need to connect your device to a desktop/laptop computer and upload from there. You can learn more about how to compress your video files on your computer here .
